Top Lenders Honored by Department

TDHCA Board Chair Elizabeth Anderson presented the First Time Homebuyer Program's "Lender of the Year" award to DHI Mortgage's Kirby Luechauer.

As part of TDHCA’s celebration of June as Homeownership Month, the Department officially recognized three members of the lending community for their contributions to affordable housing and their efforts to increase homeownership rates in Texas.

The Department named DHI Mortgage Company as the First Time Homebuyer Program “Lender of the Year”; NTFN Inc., dba Premier Nationwide Lending, as the First Time Homebuyer Program “Rookie of the Year”; and Judith O. Smith Mortgage Group as the Mortgage Credit Certificate “Lender of the Year.”

DHI Mortgage originated 386 loans totaling over $54 million. Homebuyer’s median family income was 69 percent, and 42 percent of the loans originated were made to minority homebuyers. DHI Mortgage has branch offices located in 12 counties within Texas.

Premier Nationwide Lending became a participating lender in the Departments First time Homebuyer Program in May. In that time span, the company originated 64 loans totaling over $8.4 million.
